This approach is based on the project GLORIA-EUROPE (Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments), begun in 2001. En cada cima el muestreo de la vegetaci\u00f3n se ha estructurado en dos partes: 1. Muestreo detallado en 16 cuadrados permanentes de 1\u00d71 m, delimitados \u00e9stos por parcelas de 3\u00d73 m emplazadas en las direcciones de los cuatro puntos cardinales. En ellos se registran por un lado la composici\u00f3n espec\u00edfica y la cobertura de cada componente (planta, suelo desnudo, roca, etc.) expresada en porcentaje, y por otro la frecuencia de aparici\u00f3n, de cada componente bi\u00f3tico o abi\u00f3tico considerado. 2. Muestreo en ocho secciones del \u00e1rea cimera. Las secciones quedan delimitadas por las direcciones principales y sendas l\u00edneas a 5 y 10 metros de desnivel desde el punto central de la cima, situado en su zona m\u00e1s alta. Para cada secci\u00f3n se estima la composici\u00f3n de taxones y su cobertura correspondiente seg\u00fan una escala de abundancia cualitativa en funci\u00f3n de la representatividad (dominante, com\u00fan, extendido, raro, muy raro o de presencia puntual).
